重晶石难容于水和酸、无毒、无磁性,能吸收X-射线及伽玛射线等特性。重晶石粉又名沉淀硫酸钡，化学组成为BaSO4。质纯时无色透明，含杂质时被染成各种颜色。摩氏硬度3-3.5，比重4.0-4.6.目前是桥梁和电梯的配重原料。我司现开采一座重晶石露天矿山，月供3000吨， 经工人分拣破碎，密度从3。9-4。5，块矿0-50MM；粉矿0-10MM；0-5MM等等。
